Autumn color along Deep Creek Lake below Wisp Resort

September is when Deep Creek begins to slow down in the best way. The lake is a little quieter, fall is starting to show, and there’s more room to picture what a home feels like beyond a summer weekend.

The real estate market kept moving, too. 64 Garrett County homes closed in September. The median sale price was $507,500, though that countywide number is only a starting point. A lakefront home, a ski-area retreat, and a year-round home in town each have their own market.

Buyers also had fresh options to consider. 50 homes came on the market during September, and 292 were available at month’s end—about 5.2 months of inventory. That can give buyers time to be thoughtful about the right fit. For sellers, it makes pricing and presentation especially worth getting right.

Whether you’re considering a move this fall or simply curious about your home’s value, I’d be glad to look beyond the countywide numbers and talk through what’s happening in your part of Deep Creek.
